For American odds format, there are two sets of expressions to remember, but both revolve around the figure of CHF 100. First, negative numbers express are used when the odds are below even-money for how much one needs to wager in order to win a profit of CHF 100.  When one sees a negative number like Norwich City to win at -150, this means that one would need to stake CHF 150 in order to win a profit of CHF 100, for a total return of CHF 250.  When the odds are above even-money, American odds format displays a positive figure which expresses how much one will win when CHF 100 is staked.  For example, match odds of +500 for a draw means that a stake of CHF 100 wins CHF 500 in profit for a total return of CHF 600. 

For Decimal odds format, the odds express the full amount that will be returned on your wager including the stake amount.  Simply multiply the odds by the stake. For example, if Leicester City is listed to win at 1.69, a CHF 100 bet would return a total of CHF 169 including your stake, so the profit would be CHF 69.  A draw with decimal odds of 3.35 would return CHF 335 on a bet of CHF 100. 

For Fractional format, the odds express the amount of profit that will be returned on a wager.  So for example, with a wager of CHF 100 and odds of 5/9 (said five- to-nine) on Sunderland to win, one would see a profit of CHF 55.56 plus the stake for a total return of CHF 155.56.
