The EFL Championship is the second tier of English professional football.  OddsJet compares EFL Championship odds from several reputable betting sites that serve customers in Norway and offer NOK accounts.  This allows OddsJet to display the best odds for every match on the schedule and to maximize potential returns for Norwegian bettors.  Users can toggle between 1X2 match odds as well as Double Chance odds.  If you are interested in finding the top potential payout for a bet on the eventual champion, OddsJet also compares EFL Championship winner odds.

English Championship odds explained

1X2 Match Betting

This is the most popular betting market for the Championship.  Here, one is simply wagering on the Full-Time result of a given match: 1 – a Home Win, X – a Draw, 2 – an Away win.

Double Chance Betting

This is a variation of typical 1X2 match betting whereby one selects any two of the three possible outcomes: 1,X – Home Win or Draw.  X,2 - Draw or Away Win.  1,2 - Home Win or Away Win.  This allows for a hedging of one’s bet.  In doing so, the odds will be lower than for a typical 1X2 match result odds.

Championship odds expressed in American, Decimal and Fractional formats

For American odds format, there are two sets of expressions to remember, but both revolve around the figure of NOK 100. First, negative numbers express how much one needs to wager in order to win a profit of NOK 100.  When one sees a negative number like Derby County to win at -300, this means that one would need to stake NOK 300 in order to win a profit of NOK 100, for a total return of NOK 400.  When the odds are above even, American odds format display a Positive figure which expresses how much one will win when NOK 100 is staked.  For example, match odds of +400 for a draw means that a stake of NOK 100 wins NOK 400 in profit for a total return of NOK 500.  For a team struggling against relegation to League 1, one might see match odds of +1000 to win, which means a stake of NOK 100 would win NOK 1,000 in profit for a total return of NOK 1,100

For Decimal odds format, the odds express the full amount that will be returned on your wager including the stake amount.  Simply multiply the odds by the stake. For example, if Charlton Athletic is listed to win at 1.61, a NOK 100 bet would return a total of NOK 161 including your stake, so the profit is NOK 61.  A draw with decimal odds of 3.45 would return NOK 345 on a bet of NOK 100.

For Fractional format, the odds express the amount of profit that will be returned on a wager.  So for example, with a wager of NOK 100 and odds of 4/9 (said 4 to 9) on Ipswich Town to win, one would see a profit of NOK 44.44 plus the stake for a total return of NOK 144.44.
