What is the Grey Cup?

The Grey Cup is the name of the championship game of the Canadian Football League (CFL) as well as the name of the trophy that is awarded to the winning team.  The trophy was commissioned in 1909 by Canada's Governor General Earl Grey.  It was originally intended to be donated to be the trophy for senior Canadian amateur hockey championship.
