Despite being a leader in online sports betting and igaming technology, with many cuttting edge companies, Israel has granted a monopoly to the Israel Sports Betting Board, or ISBB. No other company may offer sports betting online or otherwise to the residents of Israel.

Why do Israeli bettors look to play at offshore betting sites rather than the ISBB?

The odds at the ISBB are just about as bad as you can find in the world. For example, for the latest spread or handicap market on Super Bowl LV at the time of writing, the ISBB site 'winner.co.il' offered odds of 1.75 on Kansas City -3.5 points and 1.55 on Tampa Bay +3.5 points. Most international betting sites look to offer odds that look like 1.90 or higher on either side. In other words, if you wagered 100 EUR on Tampa, the potential payout at ISBB was just €155.
